ADOPTION PROCESS
Condition of our dogs:
- Have been cleared by our Vet for adoption.
- Any known pre-existing conditions will be disclosed.
- Current on vaccinations
- Heartworm negative
- Microchipped
- On monthly heartworm and flea prevention
- Spayed/neutered if older than 6 months
- If under 6 months, we will pay to have them spayed/neutered at our Vet.

Have a Meet & Greet
- Due to covid 19, all Meet & Greets are done in our exterior Bark Park
Complete the Questionnaire & Adoption Application
Metairie Humane vets potential Adoptees
Adoption Committee meets once a week to review vetted Adoption Applications
Metairie Humane will notify the party if their Adoption Application has been approved
An appointment will be set up with the Adoptee to:
- Complete the Adoption Agreement
- Pay the Adoption Fee:
Adult Dogs = $200
Puppies = $300 with $100 refund after being spayed/neutered
Young Purebred = $400
- Review your new pet's medical information
- Answer any questions you may have
- Take your new pet companion home
